Effects of Different Bandwidths on Soil Moisture Content under Intercropping Patterns
In order to investigate the effect of different bandwidths on soil moisture content of sloping farmland in loess tableland under intercropping mode, this study selected Pengjiadi Village in the Xiaowei River Basin, and conducted intercropping experi-ments of corn and alfalfa with different widths on sloping farmland at different slopes(5°,10°,15°)for two consecutive years.A neutron moisture analyzer and a portable time-domain reflectometer(TDR)were combined to monitor and analyze the soil moisture content of the alfalfa strips and corn strips under different bandwidths. The results showed that under the intercrop-ping of corn and alfalfa, the surface water content was lower than the deep soil water content; The surface water storage in the alfalfa strip is slightly greater than that of corn, but in the deep soil, the water storage of corn is greater than that of alfalfa;A-mong the various bandwidths, the water storage capacity of 5m is higher, which is beneficial for crop growth. The research re-sults provide reference for exploring the optimal mode of intercropping and intercropping of grain and grass on slope farmland,as well as for slope farmland management techniques.
