Research Progress on the Effect of Changing the Structure of Ridges on Crop Growth and Development of Ridge-Furrow Rainwater Harvesting Patterns
In the arid and semi-arid area, limited precipitation and uneven spatial and temporal distribution, low and unstable crop yields, seriously restricts the development of local agricultural production. How to efficiently utilize water, fertilizer, light and heat and other resources in the region,to achieve high and stable yields and sustainable development of agriculture is an im-portant issue facing the current agricultural region. As an effective water-saving cultivation practice, the ridge-furrow rainfall harvesting technology can effectively alleviate the problem of low utilization of local precipitation resources and significantly im-prove the water and heat environment required in the process of crop growth and development, and thus it has been widely pro-moted and applied in the region. In this paper,we synthesize the research progress of rainfed cropping pattern at home and a-broad,summarize the four aspects of soil hydrothermal environment, crop photosynthetic characteristics, crop nutrient absorp-tion and crop growth and development,to analyze the effects of changing the structure of ridges on the growth and development of crops under the ridge-furrow rainfall harvesting pattern, and to make outlooks on the future development of rainfed agricul-ture in arid and semi-arid zones.
