摘要
英国诗人杰勒德·霍普金斯是视图和声音书写的高手.他提出了别具一格的声音诗学观,主张诗歌之首要在于吟诵,诗歌用语当选日常口语,诗歌韵律应摒弃僵化的跑步节奏,激活古英语诗歌中的跳跃节奏而代之,使诗歌接近散文和口语节奏而近民众.他依据这些观点,摹写底层民众的各种声音,模仿自然万物的各种旋律,为世界诗坛留下了一大批声音书写杰作,让跳跃节奏和口语入诗的英国诗学传统获得新生,并成为现代主义诗学运动的重要推力.霍普金斯也因此被认为是一个现代诗人.
Abstract
Gerard Manley Hopkins,a British poet,is a talented writer of visions and sounds.He puts forward a series of unique views on sound poetics.He asserts that poetry was originally for singing or reciting,that it is emphatically speech,and that it is necessary to replace the stubborn running rhythm with the activated sprung rhythm,to make the poetry in prose and speech rhythm to be easily accessed by the public.He practices his sound poetics in writing out a lot of sound masterpieces,revealing different voices of the depressed mass,imitating various sounds in nature,reviving the ancient English poetic tradition of sprung rhythm and speech usage to become an important driving force for the prosperity of modernist poetry.He is accordingly regarded as a modern rather than a Victorian poet.
