叶芝主张,在现有的社会制度框架下以和平的方式实现民族复兴;在此前提下,挖掘与弘扬爱尔兰的英雄主义精神,在英雄主义的照耀下,建立一个田园式的共同体.为长远计,叶芝主张挖掘并丰富民族的哲学体系,以此为基础,面向同胞广施教育,提高民族素质,确保爱尔兰民族兴盛成为永世大业.叶芝的民族文化运动目标没有实现,但其影响极为深远.
Abstract
To Yeats,the national rejuvenation were to be implemented in a peaceful manner,within the framework of present social institution;against this political scenario,the well-established Irish tradition of heroism should be recovered and further enriched,to serve as a torchlight in the construction of a pastoral living community;and to perpetuate the grand nationalist course,a national system of philosophy should be created and a better education ministered nationwide to enhance the overall quality of Irish people.Yeats's cultural efforts fell short of its goals,yet has exerted a positive influence far beyond his time.
