认知文学史视域下美国南方小说的"失败"书写'

"失败"是人类普遍的生活体验.美国南方文学本质上就是以"失败"为主基调的文学,南方小说的"失败"基调有着跨越时代的历史牵连和情感联系.南方小说对"失败"的认识经历了"大厦将倾"的焦虑、"南方神话"的追忆、"南方复仇"的茫然、"内战主题"的规避到"南方历史"的直面五重阶段,展现了南方作家独特的文化反应.基于此,本文以情感为线索,在认知文学史视域下梳理、观照美国南方白人作家笔下以"失败"为特征的叙事发展轨迹,辨识出隐藏在美国南方文学浩繁卷帙下的历史和情感连接,提出南方小说的"失败"叙事实质表征了美国现代性的创伤.
Abstract
"Failure"is a universal human experience.American Southern literature is essentially based on"failure".The"failure"in southern novels has its historical implication and emotional connection across the times.The understanding of"failure"in southern novels has experienced five stages,from the anxiety of"the collapse of the building",the recall of"Southern mythology",the confusion of"Southern revenge",the avoidance of"Civil War"to the confronting of"Southern history",showing the unique cultural reaction of Southern writers.Based on this,taking emotion as the clue,this paper reviews the narrative development track characterized by"failure"in the works of white southern American writers from the perspective of cognitive literary history.It identifies the history and emotional connection hidden under the numerous volumes of Southern American literature,and holds that the"failure"narrative of southern novels essentially represents the trauma of American modernity.
