It is a heatedly-discussed issue for both Chinese and Western literati to reveal how literature can be adopted to express poetic and emotional thoughts and feelings so that it can boast entertaining and meaningful features and achieve moral education to the limit.Western litterateurs also display a special preference for metaphors,coinciding with Chinese counterparts that have particular eyes for narrative,analogy,and association for diversified creation.The poetic metaphor,featuring creativity,novelty and aesthetics,relies on the author's outstanding cognitive competence and lifelike language expressions.Based on cognitive poetics,it is a cognitive model that vividly highlights cryptic poetic meanings in literary works,and that conveys profound cultural deposits and unique aesthetic values.In the light of the evolution of poetic metaphors and studies on them during literary creation,the study on reciprocal learning between poetic metaphors and literary creation has gradually become a hot-button topic,which has made quite a splash and sparked fevered discussions in such relevant disciplines as cognitive linguistics and literary criticism in recent years.Related researches cast a spotlight on creation and interpretation methods of literature and effects of literary construal rather than on the cognitive mechanism of poetic metaphors constructing poetic meaning in literary creation,just scratching the surface.In view of the above,the paper first centers around introducing the process of cognitive transformation of poetic metaphors and summarizing studies on the cross-over studies between poetic metaphors and literary creation.Second,a detailed analysis will be conducted on the process of creating poetic meanings by metaphors in literary creation,and relevant findings on the project discovered by scholars in this field will be compared and integrated.Third,combined sufficient theories with appropriate examples,the paper will classify the elements that support the process into two types,namely the environment and body.While clarifying the cognitive mechanism,this paper ultimately envisions studies on this topic and lays the foundation for its sustainable and sound development in the future.
