Asymmetric Relations and the Construction of China's Neighborhood Community with a Shared Future
The construction of a neighborhood community with a shared future is the focus of China's neighborhood strategy in the new era,and the influence of asymmetric relations on the building of a neighborhood community with a shared future is increasingly prominent. At present, the overall power gap between neighboring countries and China is becoming more and more stable, and the two sides actually form an asymmetric relationship.Based on the asymmetric theory in international relations, this paper divides the asymmetric relations between China and its neighboring countries into three types according to the degree of asymmetry:"big country and regional power""big country and middle country"and"big country and small country".In this asymmetric relationship,to build"a community with a shared future"between China and neighboring countries of different sizes,it is necessary to take into account that there are two kinds of cognitive differences based on"strong and weak"and"weak and strong"in the process of asymmetric bilateral interaction. As a result, there may be two-way misunderstanding between China and neighboring countries, thus restricting the construction of"China's neighborhood community with a shared future".Therefore,China should take advantages of the situation, properly manage the asymmetric relationship with neighboring countries of different sizes, formulate differentiated paths for building a community with a shared future for neighboring countries of different sizes, and speed up the building process of China's neighborhood community with a shared future.
