Can Love Between Man and Robot Replace Human Love—On the Design Ethics of Companion Robots
The emergence of companion robots has had an impact on the existing marriage and emotional patterns of humans.From the perspective of intimate relationships,there are differences between human-robot love and human love,therefore,using companion robots to achieve satisfaction in love or sexual life is only a physiological satisfaction,and it cannot reach the level of human spiritual satisfaction,so it is flawed.Due to the difficulty of establishing romantic relationships similar to human love between companion robots and humans,designing companion robots that completely comply with market demand may also lead to gender inequality.Therefore,how to design companion robots that meet ethical requirements has become a key issue.In view of this,the ethical issues need to be considered in the design of companion robots from three aspects:avoiding deception,preventing gender inequality and preventing social isolation.
