Digital economy provides important driving force for the development of new quality productive forces,but due to the heterogeneity of regional resource endowments,there are differ-ences in the driving models of digital economy empowering the development of new quality produc-tive forces.Taking 30 provinces and cities in China in 2022 as samples,multiple equivalent paths for factor combinations of digital economy to empower new quality productive forcesare studied based on configuration theory.Research has found that new digital technologies are necessary for the high level of new quality productive forces,and digital resources,digital industries,basic digital technol-ogies,and digital environments cannot be used as single necessary conditions for the high level of new quality productive forces;There are three driving modes that lead to the high level of regional new quality productive forces,namely"digital industry-driven mode guided by digital resources and digital environment","two-way dominantmode with digital resources and digital industry",and"three wheel driven mode with digital resources,digital industry,and digital government".
