ANALYSIS ON SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION CHARACTERISTICS OF RURAL SETTLEMENTS IN BAZHOU TOWN,WENCHUAN COUNTY
Rural settlements are various forms of population living places in rural areas,serving as the spatial em-bodiment of population distribution in rural regions.The spatial layout of these settlements can reflect the character-istics of production and daily life,as well as the direction of rural development.Taking Bazhou Town in Wen-chuan County as an example,GIS spatial analysis techniques,combined with remote sensing data and socioeco-nomic statistics,were employed to analyze the spatial pattern of rural settlements.This analysis revealed that rural settlements are primarily concentrated in the flat river valleys and terraces in the central and western regions,as well as on the gentle slopes of the high mountains in the southern areas.The influencing factors mainly include nat-ural environmental conditions such as topography and water resources,as well as socioeconomic conditions like urban development,transportation infrastructure,and cultural traditions.Finally,recommendations for optimi-zing rural settlement spatial planning are proposed based on principles such as local adaptability and sustainable de-velopment.
