Analysis and Specific Measures of±500 kV Jin-Zhong HvdcDC System Mono-Polar Block Fault Under Asynchronous Interconnection
Sometimes mono-polar or bi-polar block faults happen in asynchronous interconnection between Yunnan Power Grid and the main power gird of China Southern Power Grid. There will be lots of surplus power which may seriously result in power grid frequency instability and large scale blackout. Therefore,it is significant for power grid's safe and stable operation to analyze and make specific measures for mono-polar block faults which happen in actual operation process. This paper focused on"8.21"Jin-Zhong HVDC system mono-polar block fault which happened in actual operation process. And the effects of mono-polar block fault on Yunnan Power Grid's frequency, voltage and power angle stability were analyzed. The effect of HVDC self start on power system stability was analyzed by simulation.According to small signal stability analysis results, generators participated in low frequency oscillation were picked out and specific measures were proposed.
