Solar-blind Discharge Counting Detection Technology and Sensor Performance
Flashovers on insulators frequently cause line short-circuit trips, which can be mitigated by effectively detecting abnormal discharges in the early stages of flashovers. To this end, this paper develops an ultraviolet detection device for insulator discharge that is highly sensitive and blind to daylight. The principles and technical parameters of the device are described, and its response performance in daylight environments, effective detection distance, and detection field of view are comprehensively tested.Based on the response output characteristics of the device,a discharge phase statistical spectrum analysis method based on photon pulse counting is proposed. The ultraviolet detection technology for insulator discharge that is highly sensitive and blind to daylight,as presented in this paper, provides a new means for UAV-based external insulation discharge inspection of power lines.
