Preparation of Mesoporous WO3/SiO2 and Its Catalytic Property in Oxidative Desulfurization
A series of mesoporous WO3/SiO2 catalysts with different WO3 loadings were prepared by an incipient-wetness impregnation method using agricultural waste rice husk as both silica source and mesoporous template, and phosphotungstic acid as tungsten source. The relevant char-acterization results showed that for the samples with low loading, the WO3 grains were highly dispersed on the carrier SiO2,and the samples had higher specific surface area, external surface area and mesopore volume. The catalytic performance of the samples was evaluated by oxidative des-ulfurization reactions of dibenzothiophene(DBT)and 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene(4,6-DMDBT).The 2.4%WO3/SiO2 sample gave 99.9%DBT conversion and 99.5%4,6-DMDBT conversion under optimized conditions.
