Determination of Six Benzene Series Compounds in Waterborne Coatings by Solvent Precipitation-Gas Chromatography
Using n-hexane solvent precipitation to solve the problem of emulsion formation between ethyl acetate and water-based coatings,an accurate and quantitative detection method for six benzene series compounds in water-based coatings by gas chromatography was established. After adding extractants such as ethyl acetate to water-based coatings,a homogeneous and stable emulsion will be formed, which cannot pass through 0.22 μm filter membrane filtration.By adding an appropriate proportion ofn-hexane solvent to disrupt the stable system of the coating, the adhesive substances in the coating can agglomerate with solid particles, thus the solution system can be clarified. The linear relationship of benzene derivatives within the range from0.1 to50 μg/mL is good, with a correlation of 0.999,a detection limit of 0.027-0.17 mg/kg,an ac-curacy of 90.8%-109.5%,and a precision of 2.6%-7.4%.This method is more environmentally friendly, accurate and stable in quantifica-tion compared to the national standard, and can be used for actual sample detection in the laboratory.
