Preparation and in Vitro Evaluation of Tea Tree Oil Microemulsion
(Objective)To study the formulation and preparation of tea tree oil microemulsion by the central composite designresponse surface method and to evaluate its quality.(Methods)The selection of tea tree oil microemulsion prescription were screened by the pseudo-trigram.Fixed mass fraction oil phase, with the mass fraction of mixed emulsifier and the proportion of emulsifier and auxiliary emulsifier to examine fac-tors,particle size, zeta potential of microemulsion and multiple effects of dispersion coefficient PI for value, using the Design-Expert 8.05b software filter and verify the optimal prescription.(Results)The best prescription for tea tree oil micromilk was:oil phase(tea tree oil)5%,emulsifier(Kolliphor RH40)11.12%,and coemulsifier(Trabscutol P)15.44%,water 68.44%;The average particle size is 17.53 nm,and Zeta potential is-16.36,PI is 0.035.The total volume of 12h of tea tree oil was 3 times that of tea tree oil diluents.(Conclusions)The design of the central design-response surface method can easily obtain the better prescription of the tea tree oil microemulsion, and the model predic-tion is good, which provides reference for the research and development of clinical preparations of tea tree oil.
