Study on the Influence of Treatment Process at Water Treatmentplant to the Total Organic Carbon(TOC)and Trihalomethane Formation Potential(THMFP)
The indicators of total organic carbon(TOC),trihalomethanes(THMs)and trihalomethane formation potential(THMFP)in the ef-fluent of each water treatment process section of water treatment plant were investigated and analyzed. The elimination and change trend of TOC in each process of the water plant were studied. The content change and composition of THMs were compared and analyzed from horizontal and vertical aspects. The THMFP was analyzed by chlorination and correlated with the content of total organic carbon. The results showed that the concentration of dissolved organic carbon decreased in the whole process of water treatment, and the most obvious process for its elimination was advection sedimentation tank, which could eliminate 79%-87%of the total organic carbon;the content of trihalomethane significantly in-creased after chlorination through the clear water tank, accounting for 72%-77%of the total content, and the composition analysis showed that the content ratio of chloroform, bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane and tribromomethane was close to 2:2:4,which displayed obvious reaction characteristics. This result indicated that the contents increase of trihalomethane really comes from the reaction generation after adding chlorine.During the sampling period, the concentration of trihalomethane is between 0.4%-42.9 μg/L,which meet the relevant national stand-ards.The concentration variation of THMFP ranged at 130-410 µg/L,which belong to a moderate level.Besides, obvious positive correlation re-lationship between the contents of THMFP and TOC were observed.
