Study of Solar Evaporation Properties of Carbon Black/Polyacrylamide Composite Hydrogels
Scarcity of freshwater resources is a global problem that needs to be solved urgently. In this paper,a carbon black/polyacrylamide composite hydrogel evaporator was designed using polyacrylamide hydrogel as a water transport body and carbon black as a photothermal conver-sion material. The results show that the evaporation rate of this evaporator reaches 2.06 kg·m-2·h-1 at one solar light intensity, while that of the carbon nanotube/polyacrylamide composite hydrogel evaporator reaches 2.66 kg·m-2·h-1.Considering the cost of raw materials, carbon nanotubes are 800,000 yuan/tonne and carbon black is only 0.99 million yuan/tonne,and the carbon black evaporator has a significant eco-nomic advantage.
