In this work,in order to help students master the knowledge of sub-critical fluid extraction technology and develop comprehensive ca-pacity,a self-made small visual sub-critical fluid butane extraction apparatus was applied in comprehensive experiments of applied chemistry for processing and extraction of Magnolia officinalis.The experiment can be designed by students,the effects of the ethanol content of entrainer and extraction time on the extraction can be investigated and the optimum technological conditions can also be determined.This teaching practice was found to improve students'learning interests and practical ability,and enhance students'innovation ability as well.
