Extraction of Flavonoids from Leaves and Branches of Erythrina Crista-galli and Their Antibacterial Effect
Leaves and branches of Erythrina crista-galli served as the basis for this study.Through single factor and orthogonal testing,we de-termined the best conditions for extracting flavonoids. The ideal extraction process involved using a 50%ethanol solution as the solvent, with a material-to-solvent ratio of 1∶50.Extraction was conducted at a constant temperature of 80℃ in a water bath for 60 minutes, followed by an additional 40 minutes of ultrasonic treatment. This yielded a total flavonoid extraction of 25.4 mg/g.Utilizing this optimized extract,we ex-plored its antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus using the paper diffusion method. The results demonstrated that the extract displayed antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus, while it did not have a considerable effect on Escherichia coli.
