Practical Approaches to Endogenous Rural Aged Care Services:An Investigative Study of Several Aged-care Homes in A County of Shanxi Province
Endogenous rural aged care provides low-cost care services for the aged,which has become an effective practice in actively addressing the problem of the aging population in rural areas.Based on an investigative study of several rural aged-care homes in A County,Shanxi province,this paper gives a comprehensive description of the practical process of the endogenous aged care services and explores their sustainable implementation mechanisms.The expansion of the rural family development goals,the pursuit of multiple goals by rural social elites,and the effective use of endogenous resources in the rural society jointly promote the emergence of endoge-nous aged care services.Endogenous aged care institutions rely on the multi-functioning cost-sharing mechanism,the adaptive serv-ice-supply mechanism,and the consensus-based risk-controlling mechanism to offer low-cost,on-site,and emotional aged care services for ordinary rural aged people,providing adjustment for the development of rural families,and realizing the public shaping of the rural aged care.Local governments need to understand endogenous aged care services from the perspective of urban-rural differ-ences,provide them with more policy support,rebuild rural civilization,and ensure the continuous supply of endogenous aged care services.
