A Study of the China-Myanmar Border Security Governance from the Perspective of the Risk Society
The China-Myanmar Corridor is one of the vital land routes connecting China to the Indian Ocean and serves as a significant node in advancing the"Belt and Road"initiative.With the rapid development of information technology,marked by the Internet and artificial intelligence,as well as changes in the geopolitical landscape,the China-Myanmar border faces a special situation of the co-existence of endogenous and exogenous security risks,manifesting in a complex overlay of multiple security risks including the safety of border residents,the economic security,the social security,the cultural security,and the information security.In response to the intri-cate situation of multiple security risks in the China-Myanmar border area,it is essential to adhere to a holistic national security per-spective,coordinate development and security,enhance the risk awareness among the border officials and the public,focus on creating favorable external environments and effective internal mechanisms,improve the risk governance system for the border security,enhance the capability for handling border security risks,build a China-Myanmar community with a shared future,and provide security guar-antees for the construction of the new China-Myanmar Indian Ocean Corridor.
