Preparation and photocatalytic properties of PVP modified bismuth titanate
Bismuth titanate with different molar ratio of bismuth to titanium was prepared from bismuth nitrate pen-tahydrate and tetrabutyl titanate by solvothermal synthesis and cophase precipitation respectively, and added the surfactant polyvinyl pyrrolidenone(PVP)to modify it.The characterization results of the catalyst showed that PVP-Bi20TiO32 was square crystal with characteristic peak of TiO6octahedron and band width was 1.38 eV.The exper-iment of photocatalytic activity showed that the photocatalyst prepared by adding 0.3 g PVP,4∶1 solution volume ratio, reacting for 16 h at 140 ℃ and calcining for 2 h at 300 ℃ had the best photocatalytic activity, using 500 W xenon lamp as light source, adding 0.1 g PVP modified bismuth titanate catalyst was added to degrade 100 mL rho-damine B solution with concentration of 10 mg/L,and by irradiation for 120 min,the degradation effect can reach 98%.
