In order to standardize the deployment and control of oil spill containment booms in rivers,a mobile app has been designed based on basic physics principles and oil spill recovery principles.By in-putting river flow velocity,width,boom model,and winch load,the angle,number of segments,and number of individual booms included in each boom can be obtained.This aims to improve the short-comings of traditional oil spill recovery projects,which mainly rely on on-site operator experience to determine boom deployment and control plans.
