Comparative Study on the Remediation Efficiency of Ornamental Accumulator Plants of Soil Cadmium Pollution
To explore the effect of hyperaccumulater plantson remediation of cadmium-contaminated soil,a field randomized block experiments were conducted in farmland with a Cd concentration of 2.5 mg·kg-1.Tagetes patula L.,Lonicera japonica Thunb.,Mirabilis jalapa L.and Tagetes erecta L.were planted separately to investigate the absorption and enrichment characteristics of Cd by different ornamental plants. The results showed that different ornamental plants have different abilities to ab-sorb and accumulate soil Cd,with the absorption and enrichment performance of Cd in Tagetes erecta L.>Tagetes patula L.>Mirabilis jalapa L.>Lonicera japonica Thunb. The aboveground Cd con-tent and accumulation of Tagetes erecta L.and Tagetes patula L.were greater than the underground parts, while the aboveground Cd content and accumulation of Mirabilis jalapa L.and Lonicera japon-ica Thunb.were less than the underground parts. The enrichment factor and translocation factor of Tagetes erecta L.were the highest, with an aboveground enrichment factor of 2.48 and a translocation factor of 1.63,indicating that it has the strongest absorption and enrichment capability for Cd.This study shows that Tagetes erecta L.has a good potential and application prospect in remediation of cad-mium-contaminated soil.
