Analysis of Soft Foundation Slope Stability by Finite Element Strength Reduction Method
The finite element strength reduction method has been extensively studied and applied in homogeneous soil and rock slopes. But when applied to soft foundation slopes with lower strength, the model mesh division and boundary conditions are different from homogeneous slopes. After comparative research,it was found that a grid node density of 2 points per meter is more suitable for the soft foundation slope model, and the model boundary should be defined by the corrected slope height H.Based on specific engineering cases, the stability of the slope was rechecked using the finite element strength reduction method, and compared with the limit equilibrium method. The results showed that the mesh division and model boundary setting mentioned above were more suitable, and the finite element strength reduction method could better reflect the stress-strain distribution of the slope.
