Monitoring and Detection of Dam Structural Health Using Drones and Reconstructed 3D Models
This paper proposes an efficient method for monitoring and detecting the health of dam structures through drone photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction technology. It uses drones to survey the surface of the dam, generate low-cost digital photogrammetry, and record the characteristics of the dam in real time.It uses Structure from Motion(SfM)and image processing algorithms to construct a three-dimensional model of the dam,and analyzes the accuracy of the model through point cloud comparison. This article uses two drone platforms,DJI M210 and DJI PHANTOM 4 PRO,equipped with optical sensors for image acquisition. It uses Agisoft PhotoScan Professional software for photogrammetric processing and improves model accuracy through bundled adjustment optimization methods. In terms of emergency monitoring, the method of using edge GCP has been proposed to improve efficiency and feasibility.
