Risk Management and Reinforcement Strategies for the Operation of Small Homogeneous Earth Dams:A Case Study of Jingtou Reservoir
Due to long-term operation, there are certain risks to the engineering quality and flood control capacity of Jingtou Reservoir.Based on the engineering geological conditions,a risk assessment was conducted for safety. The engineering quality was evaluated as'unqualified',the dam operation management was evaluated as'non-standard',the flood resistance capacity of the reservoir dam did not meet the requirements, and the flood control capacity of the dam was evaluated as'C'.The comprehensive safety assessment of the engineering structure was rated as'C'.In response to operational risks, this paper proposes the reconstruction of dam slope panels, the removal and reconstruction of spillway retaining walls and spillway bottom plates, the construction of new water conveyance culverts, and the installation of vertical displacement, horizontal displacement, and water level observation facilities, providing a basis for the safe operation and reinforcement of reservoirs.
