Principle of Diagnosing Transformer Faults using Gas Chromatography Analysis
Transformers play a role in voltage conversion, current conversion, impedance variation, voltage stabilization, and isolation in the power system. However, the high temperature during transformer operation is the direct cause of insulation oil aging and insulation material damage.During the gradual aging process of insulating oil and solid insulation, gases will be generated by cracking, and these gases will be diluted in the insulating oil under certain conditions. Therefore,by detecting and analyzing the insulation oil,the internal operation of the transformer can be directly judged based on the gas content.Gas chromatography analysis is an important method for concise and rapid determination of the interior of transformers.
