Empiricism and rationalism,as the two major currents of modern epistemologyunderlie the oscillating trends in the evolution of ideologies.Empirical rationality posits that experience is the gateway to revealing the truth of reality and the foundation for ensuring the veracity of ideas.By reducing concepts to empirical facts, the illusory metaphysicswithin ideologies would dissipate. On the other hand, cognitive rationality endeavors to shape a perfect ideology through unified, universal, and certain knowledge, aiming to continually reconcile social conflicts, bridge real-world disparities, and foster an ideal existence. In fact, the quest for the truth-value of ideologies,a pursuit shared by both empirical and cognitive rationalities necessitate interpretation not only from an epistemological perspective but also from axiological and ontological dimensions.
