Effect of Thermal History on Wax Precipitation Characteristics and Viscosity-Tempera-ture Properties of Chad Crude Oil
On the basis of testing the physical properties of Chad crude oil,an in-depth study of the effects of heat treatment temperature and cooling rate on wax precipitation characteristics and viscosity-temperature properties is conducted.Taking two crude oils from Chad A and C as the research objects, the wax content, pour point,SARA and n-alkane carbon number distribution are tested, and it is found that Chad crude oil is a high wax content crude oil.Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC)is used to investigate its wax precipitation characteristics. The result shows that higher treatment tempera-ture and larger cooling rate can affect the backward shift of the wax precipitation point, and higher treatment temperature can reduce the accumulated wax precipitation of crude oil during the cooling process.By measuring the viscosity-temperature relationship of two types of crude oil under different heat treatment temperatures and different cooling rates,it is found that higher treatment temperatures and larger cooling rates can make the crude oil have better viscosity-temperature characteristics.Observ-ing under a polarizing microscope,it is found that the wax crystal structure gradually becomes denser during the cooling process. The impact of thermal history on crude oil provides a theoretical foundation for the heating transportation and the pour point reduction modification transportation of the Chad crude oil.
