Research on the Grease Injection Leak Stoppage and Emergency Repair Technology with Drainage-Type Clamps for Bimetallic Clad Pipes
The bimetallic clad pipe is the most widely used in long-distance oil and gas transmission pipelines for its high corrosion resistance. However, unavoidable lining leakage and collapse are restrict-ing the pipeline integrity and the production continuity,as the on-site plugging and repairing technol-ogy of bimetallic clad pipes in existence unable to carry out thorough repair or fundamentally block the corrosion due to the particularity of the pipeline structure.Based on the structural characteristics of bi-metallic clad pipes and the geometric characteristics of leakage defects, the grease injection leak stoppage and emergency repair technology with drainage-type clamps for bimetallic clad pipes has been tested and improved.Through the research on tools and schemes for the operations such as drainage-type rein-forcement of sleeves, repair of split-type clamp, pressurized opening and sealing,an integrity method for grease injection leak stoppage and emergency repair technology with drainage-type clamps for bime-tallic clad pipes has been established, which has the advantages of no open flame, high safety, short re-pairing cycle, and transmission without shutdown or depressurization. The research work shows that the cavity of the sample pipe between the inner wall of the clamp and the pipeline is completely filled with sealing grease, blocking the source of corrosion. No leakage was found when the operating pres-sure reached 15 MPa or after 2 cycles of pressurization and depressurization.Through the industrial CT scanning images of the filled samples, the internal collapse filler functions well, and can be assumed ef-fective in the prevention of further corrosion from lining puncture leakage.
