Study on Stripping/FID Method of VOCs in Cooling Water of the Petrochemical Industry
Controlling VOCs emissions from cooling towers plays an important role in the deep emission reduction of VOCs in the petrochemical industry, and VOCs quantitative monitoring in water is especially important. The three refineries in China was taken as the research object,VOCs quantitative monitoring of four cooling water towers was studied by using Stripping/FID method, and the results were compared with the traditional GC/MS method to guide the quantitative detection of VOCs in water. The results show that the VOCs concentration of cooling water in petrochemical industry ranges from 11.9 to 22.8 μg/L(as CH4).It Mainly contains acetone, chloroform, isopropyl alcohol and styrene components.Stripping/FID method is more conducive to the detection of low boiling point VOCs components. The detection results of VOCs such as alcohols and acids with high solubility and poor removal efficiency in water may be low.
