Single-phase-to-ground Fault Location Analysis of Distribution Network with Small Resistance Grounding Based on Waveform Characteristics
With the increasing capacitive current in the distribution network system, the grounding method through a small resistance at the neutral point has been widely applied. However, there exists a problem in the small resistance grounding method where the zero-sequence current protection cannot isolate the fault line during high-resistance grounding. This article primarily analyzes the detection methods for grounding faults. Then, based on the time-domain characteristics of the zero-sequence current waveform, the protection principle and process for single-phase high-resistance grounding faults are analyzed, providing a certain reference value.
