A Comprehensive Overview of Launching and Recovery Methods for Underwater Gliders
Launching and recovery technology for underwater gliders is one of the key technologies for underwater gliders to carry out marine research and military activities,and an important research topic in the field of underwater automation.The development and optimization of launch and recovery devices for different carriers to improve the working efficiency of underwater gliders have become the focus of research on underwater glider launch and recovery technology.This article first elaborates on the emergence and development history of underwater gliders,followed by a detailed introduction to the existing launch and recovery technologies for underwater gliders at home and abroad.Finally,the advantages and disadvantages,costs,and working ranges of the mentioned launch and recovery methods for underwater gliders are summarized and suggestions are provided,aiming to contribute to the development of launch and recovery technology for underwater gliders.
