Research on Issues and Countermeasures for Relay Protection of New Power Systems
With the widespread adoption of renewable energy sources and advancements in distributed energy technologies,modern power networks,characterized by their eco-friendliness and high efficiency,are leading the innovation in the energy sector.This system integrates cutting-edge microgrid technologies and smart grid components,raising more stringent standards for power quality and supply stability.Nevertheless,these developments have also introduced new challenges,particularly in the crucial realm of relay protection safety.Faced with the features of the new power system,such as the integration of sustainable energy sources into the grid and the connection of converters,traditional maintenance strategies appear inadequate to cope with this formidable challenge.Instabilities and faulty responses in the maintenance network have transformed into hidden threats to the stability of power supply.Moreover,the issues of security and robustness faced by communication-dependent protection mechanisms are also particularly prominent.These emerging scenarios necessitate creative changes to relay protection schemes to safeguard the security,stability,and reliability of the electrical power network.
