A test method for testing the moisturizing retention of textiles by sweating guarded hotplate method was introduced.The method simulated microclimate,the water-vapour resistance and relative humidi-ty were tested to evaluate the moisturizing performance of textiles.The results showed that the water-va-pour resistance and relative humidity values of chemical fiber fabric were not different from natural fiber fabric,but the water-vapour resistance and relative humidity values of coated fabric were significantly larger than or-dinary fabric,and the relative humidity of moisturizing fabrics form the market was not significantly improved.During the tests,the direction of the temperature and humidity sensor had great influence on the relative hu-midity results.Towards the hydrophilic breathable membranes,the relative humidity increased significantly.In addition,the properties of hydrophilic breathable films from different manufacturers varied greatly,and the moisture ratio range of hydrophilic breathable films should be unified to ensure the accuracy and consistency of test results.
