This article aims to interpret the"Mask'Misunderstanding'"exhibition and its underlying cultural and social significance.It discusses the symbolic meanings of masks in both historical and contemporary society,and how they reflect changes in culture,identity,and social roles.The author explores the concealing and revealing functions of masks through Xu Bing's work Panda Zoo,as well as their impact on individual identity in the context of globalization and the internet age.The article also reviews the status of masks in surrealism and modern art,emphasizing their importance as a concept and artistic practice.
