Enameled copper wire is a typical organic-inorganic composite material composed of high-grade copper and organic paint layer with micrometer-thick attached to the surface of the copper wire, which is mainly used for electromagnetic windings of motors.Waste enameled copper wire has become a significant secondary resource due to its high-grade copper content.Pyrolysis is a vital method for recycling waste enameled copper wires to obtain renewable copper. The research progress on the pyrolysis mechanism of enameled copper wires was reviewed, the existing pyrolysis technology characteristics and pyrolysis equipment types were summarized, the main problems in current research work and actual production were analyzed, and the prospects for the future development of waste enameled copper wires recycling at the technical and equipment levels were put forward. So as to provide some reference information for the pyrolysis recycling of waste enameled copper wires.
