Preparation of Ionic Liquid Composite Resin and Its Application in Removing Zinc from Nickel Electrolyte
An imidazolyl ionic liquid composite resin was prepared regarding the difficulty of selective separation of impurity zinc from nickel electrolyte. The equilibrium, kinetic and thermodynamic properties of zinc chloride complex ion adsorbed by the composite resin and the effects of pH and temperature on the adsorption rate of zinc were studied. The results show that the adsorption conforms to the Freundlich isothermal model, and the adsorption process conforms to the quasi-second-order kinetic model. The lower the temperature of the exothermic process, the higher the adsorption rate, and the low pH solution is more conducive to the adsorption of zinc by the resin. The saturated adsorption capacity of the ionic liquid composite resin for zinc can reach 62.83 mg/L.When the resin is used to treat the impurity zinc in the actual nickel electrolyte, the maximum removal rate can reach 97.28%,and the resin can still reach more than 85%zinc removal rate after repeated regeneration for 6 times.
