Effect of High Energy Lasers Introduction on Deposition and Microstructure of Cold Spray Al6061 Coating
The cold spray Al6061 coating technology has been successfully applied to the repair of aviation components. However, achieving high-density and high-performance coatings still necessitates the use of costly helium gas.Addressing the challenge of cost-effective preparation of cold spray Al6061 coatings is urgent.High-energy lasers can rapidly heate and soften materials, effectively promoting the high-speed impact deformation, deposition and densification of cold spray powder particles. To this end, this paper investigated the effect of laser power on the deposition and microstructure of cold sprayed Al6061 coatings by introducing high-energy lasers. The deposition thickness, microstructure, microhardness, and phase composition of Al6061 coatings produced by laser power in the range of 0-7 kW were evaluated. This study provided theoretical guidance for the preparation of cost-effective and high-density Al6061 coatings.
