Study on Influence of Lubricant Concentration on Drawing Surface Quality of Titanium Alloy Ti-6.5Al-4V-0.15B Wire
The friction and wear behavior of titanium alloy ti-6.5 al-4v-0.15 B wire drawing is analyzed for the first time in this study. On this basis, the surface morphology of the wire after drawing with three lubricant concentrations(25%,40%,55%)is studied. The results show that there are three layers on the surface of the wire, namely the substrate, the oxide layer and the lubricant coating, which conform to the typical characteristics of oxidative wear. The low concentration of lubricant leads to the thickening of oxide layer and the increase of friction and wear.Too high lubricant concentration will cause too much attached lubricant and form too wide oxide layer cracks, which will lead to greater damage to the matrix layer, and the lubricant concentration is finally determined to be 40%.the surface morphology evolution of each typical drawing pass under the action of selected concentration of lubricant is further analyzed and studied.
