Granite is widely distributed in the hilly mountainous areas of Guangdong Province,and granite often develops into many spherical weathered bodies(boulders),which are prone to instability and rolling,posing a threat to the safety of structures and people below the mountain.In this paper,a survey was carried out in the northeast area of Shihu Village,Shangping Town,Longchuan County,Heyuan City,Guangdong Province.By analyzing the characteristics of development and distribution,the stability of the boulders was assessed.Rockfall software was used to simulate the movement trajectory and energy curve of the boulders,so as to more effectively set up rock retaining walls and passive protective networks to intercept the upper rocks.
