In this paper, the impact of goaf of Liuyuanzi Coal Mine in Huanxian County on the surface settlement is systematically analyzed. The coal mine was mainly mined in the Lower Jurassic Yan'an Formation, which has formed 21 surface cracks in the direction of northeast to southwest. The surface settlement, displacement and the impact range were evaluated through quantitative calculation. The maximum surface movement distance is 912.2 mm,the maximum settlement is 1 365.80 mm,and the average radius of impact range of the mining boundary is 209 m,covering an area of approximately 0.926 km2.The study shows that the possibility of landslides caused by goaf collapse in this area is low,and the predicted hazard is moderate. The collapse of the mine goaf has a certain potential impact on the neighboring residents, while has limited impact on the coal mine facilities and most areas of Liuyuanzi Village. The research results provide an important basis for the assessment of coal mining impacts and the maintenance of surface stability.
