Geological Characteristics and Prospecting Prospect of Songao Copper-Gold Polymetallic Deposit in Mengkan County,Chuangkuang Province,Laos
The Songao copper-gold polymetallic deposit in Mengkan County,Chuankuang Province,Laos,has good metallogenic conditions.Several skarn type and fracture zone type deposits in the contact zone between granite and limestone have been found,and several large-super large porphyry-skarn type copper,gold,tin polymetallic deposits have been found.The regional Forsyth neutral-medium acid diorite-granite complex intrudes along the north-west tectonic belt,with long activity time and multiple stages.In the transition position and branching section of the rock mass,the carbonate surrounding rocks and the tectonic fracture zone have the metallogenic conditions for the formation of skarn type copper-gold deposits or altered rock type deposits.The mining area has the possibility of expanding the prospect and looking for copper and gold deposits.Whether in the main body or the periphery of the mining area,there is room for discovering new types of gold mineralization and increasing copper reserves through exploration.
