The Influence of Organic Substances and Cobalt Content on Zinc Electrolysis
The main reason for the occurrence of plate burning in the process of zinc hydrometallurgy is caused by the abnormal con-tent of organic matter and cobalt.Quantitative analysis was conducted on P204 and kerosene in the residual solution of indium extrac-tion,the maximum allowable values of P204 and kerosene suitable for zinc electrolysis were found in the electrolysis experiment, and the organic P204 in indium raffinate was adsorbed by activated carbon. The effect of cobalt content on the quality of zinc precipitated was verified.Through experiments and some other researchs, the organic matter and cobalt content in the zinc electrolysis system,as well as the measures taken for treatment have been studied to solve the problem of zinc electrolysis burning, and have achieved good results.
