3-hydroxy-2-naphthalamic acid was synthesized from hydroxylamine sulfate,3-hydroxy-2-naphthalamic acid and 3-hy-droxyl-2-naphthalamic acid as raw materials, and sodium hydroxide was oximated by drip adding sodium hydroxide, and then dilute sulfuric acid to make weak acid. The specific effects of the parameters of the synthesis on the concentration of the product were con-firmed by repeated experiments on the temperature, duration and the ratio of each component in the oximation process. Then, the ex-perimental conditions were optimized according to each single variable, and it was concluded that in the process of preparing the new rare earth flotation reagent 3-hydroxy-2-naphthalene methohydroxamic acid, the optimal ratio of 3-hydroxy-2-naphthalene car-boxylic acid and sodium hydroxide was 1∶2.25,the reaction lasted for 16 hours, and needed to be carried out at 27℃.
