Experimental Research and Production Practice of Increasing Copper Extrac-tion Rate of Low Copper Content Solution of a Copper-cobalt Mine
The low copper content raffinate in the hydrometallurgical production of a copper-cobalt mine is used as a raw material for iron removal and cobalt precipitation. If the solvent extraction rate of low copper content solution is low,the copper in the raf-finate will be lost to iron slag and cobalt salt products. Therefore,it is necessary to increase the solvent extraction rate to avoid cop-per loss.In order to improve the copper extraction rate of low copper content solution, the effects of properties of high copper con-tent solution, low copper content solution and stripping solution were studied. The results shows that the higher sulfuric acid content of the copper solution and higher copper concentration of the stripping solution is more unfavorable for low copper content solution extraction. While the higher acidity of the stripping liquid is more conducive to low copper content solution extraction. In actual production,a series of adjustment measures were adopted based on the test results, which increased the low copper content solution extraction rate from 95.07% to more than 97%,and the copper content of the raffinate solution dropped from 0.26 g/L to below 0.12 g/L,and the economic benefits were significant.
