Analysis of Factors Affecting Copper Content in Flash Smelting Slag and its Optimization Measures
The composition of flash smelting raw materials in a copper company in Fujian fluctuates greatly, and the copper content in the slag is difficult to control, which has a certain impact on the process index control of subsequent copper slag flotation. In response to this issue, the paper analyzes the chemical composition and physical phase of the flash smelting slag, studies the forms of copper loss in slag and its impact on the copper content in slag, proposes control measures to reduce copper content in slag from the aspects of optimizing flash smelting furnace conditions, dry concentrate composition, and iron-silicon ratio.Practices have shown that by controlling the Fe3O4 mass fraction in the slag to be below 9%,the iron-silicon ratio around 1.25,and the matte grade between 61%and 62%,the copper mass fraction in the flash smelting slag can be maintained below 1.1%,so that a good flash smelting slag type will be obtained to reach stable control and reduce the loss of metallic copper.
