Opportunistic colonoscopy screening results for colonrectal cancer in Luxian physical examination center and analysis of risk factors for colonrectal cancer
Objective To analyze the results of opportunistic colonoscopy screening for colonrectal cancer(CRC)in physical examination population and the risk factors of CRC.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate 359 cases of physical examinees who underwent opportunistic colonoscopy screening in the physical examination center of Luxian Hospital from July 2021 to December 2022.The results of colonoscopy, general characteristics including age and gender, lifestyle factors including drinking and smoking, symptoms including abdominal pain and changes in stool traits,as well as information including past medical history and family history of tumors were collected for single factor analysis.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to find out the risk factors of CRC,and the receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to determine the critical value for the identified risk factors. Results A total of 87 cases(24.2%)of colorectal adenoma and 272 cases(75.8%)of non-colorectal adenoma were found in 359 cases of colonoscopic opportunistic screening.Single factor analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in gender, age, and body mass index(BMI)between the two groups(P<0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age was a risk factor for colorectal adenoma(P<0.05).The ROC determined that the age threshold was 45 years old(sensitivity 71.3%,specificity 41.5%).Conclusion Colorectal adenomas lack specific clinical manifestations, but there is a higher incidence of adenoma detection in opportunistic colonoscopy screening.Age is the main risk factor for colorectal adenoma.Special attention should be paid to CRC screening in adults over 45 years old.
