By participating in the consultation of a patient with renal failure receiving continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT)complicated by cytomegalovirus infection, the clinical pharmacist comprehensively considered the patient's clinical infection status, renal function, the impact of CRRT and the characteristic of the medication. The pharmacist timely adjusted the dosage of ganciclovir, ultimately controlling the infection and maintaining stable renal function.A literature review revealed that current research lacks sufficient dosage adjustment recommendations for ganciclovir in CRRT patients, often focusing on anuric patients.Clinicians need to adjust medication dosages promptly based on the patient's actual condition, drug solubility, plasma protein binding rate and other factors to avoid delaying treatment.
